To Whom I May Concern® Facilitator Certification Course

To Whom I May Concern® (TWIMC) is a unique storytelling and performance program that gives people living with early-stage dementia the opportunity to share their experiences, connect with others, and reshape the conversation around cognitive change.

Through the guidance of a trained TWIMC facilitator, participants join a Sharing Group, where they explore personal stories of diagnosis, adaptation, family, and future hopes. These stories become the foundation of a co-created script, culminating in a powerful, live or recorded performance that educates, inspires, and brings communities together.

With the TWIMC  Facilitator Certification Course, you’ll learn how to lead this transformative process—helping participants build friendships, find support, and experience meaningful engagement, all while ensuring their voices are heard.

Ready to become a facilitator? Join us and help redefine what it means to live with dementia.

Pre-requisite:

An existing support group or program for people living with early stage dementia.

If your organization or community does not currently have a dementia support group or programming for people living with early stage dementia, we can help you get one started. Please refer to Creating Connections, our training for people who wish to start and faciliate support groups. Once you have a dementia support group and they are ready to take the next step towards advocacy, the From Story to Stage course will teach you how to move from support group to Sharing Group, write a script and co-create a performance with your Sharing Group.

By taking the Facilitator Masterclass, you will:

  • Facilitate a unique program that empowers people aware of cognitive changes to educate their communities about dementia and make a difference
  • Develop the skills to work with groups of people aware of cognitive changes and with the knowledge and tools to create an engaging TWIMC script
  • Connect with others who have a passion for listening to the person diagnosed
  • Learn through stimulating online classes that combine instruction, reading, group work, self-reflection, and hands-on practice
  • Receive Certification as TWIMC Facilitator upon completion of requirements

Benefits of Certification:

  • Ability to bring TWIMC to your local community with training and support from a community of experienced trainers
  • Authorization to use trademark To Whom I May Concern® on the script and promotional materials
  • Authorized use of the TWIMC template for your group’s script
  • Receive regular TWIMC program updates
  • Stay connected with the wider TWIMC facilitator community
  • Qualify to participate in the Train-the-Trainer Program and train new facilitators in your community

Requirements for Certification

  • Successful completion of TWIMC Facilitator Training Program
  • Facilitation of a TWIMC Sharing Group from group formation through to performance
  • Participation in an annual gathering of facilitators to share their experience of creating TWIMC
No one gives people living with dementia the time to tell their stories. But when stories are told in a live performance, the audience has no choice but to listen.

What a great experience this was. I was afraid that three days, three hours per day, would be too much and too intense for me. But it was so engaging and interesting that the time flew by. I have learned so much from Maureen and Laura.
